Loss of Servant Air flight 109

Kodiak, AK, January 6, 2008: On January 5th at 1:48 pm Servant Air Inc tragically lost a Piper Navajo N509FN with 9 passengers, 10 including the pilot. Flight 109, a chartered twin engine Piper Navajo Chieftain was enroute from Kodiak to Homer Alaska.

The management and employees of Servant Air Inc. offer their most sincere condolences to the families, passengers and pilot of flight 109.

The pilot, Robin R. Starrett age 50, and five passengers were lost when the aircraft came to rest in shallow water just short of the Kodiak State Airport shortly after take-off. There were 4 survivors.

Servant Air gratefully acknowledges all those persons and agencies involved in the rescue of the survivors of our plane and the recovery of the aircraft and personal effects.

Servant Air is working with the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board investigators who have been on scene since Saturday evening.

Servant Air is actively participating in providing transportation and Care-Giver services to all those persons involved in this tragic event.

Recovery of the aircraft is ongoing at this time and should be completed by late afternoon Sunday.
